Crafted by artisan members of our collective in Northern Peru, each Black Tip Double-Nostril Tepi is individually shaped from sustainably sourced lamb bone reclaimed from food use.

Hapé is loaded through the single blowing end and carried through two separate channels, allowing an even simultaneous delivery through both receiving tips. Black seed accents finish the paired ends, while natural resin and pigment create the warm, earthy surface of the central body.

Black thread is wrapped around the center and finished with seed beads and feather accents, adding movement and individual character to each piece. Because the bone, seeds, feathers, beadwork, and hand-applied finish vary naturally, no two tepis will be exactly alike.

Care

Gently clear both airways before and after each use by blowing through the channels away from your face. Store the tepi in a dry place and avoid prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight.

Wipe the exterior with a clean, dry cloth and avoid soaking or using chemical cleaners. Protect the natural bone, black receiving tips, seeds, beadwork, and feathers from impacts, bending, abrasion, and snagging. Keep it in a protective pouch during travel or storage.
