You will see the handle that is made of carved ayahuasca vine. The painted wingo (gourd) has a handle wrapped at the top with natural black thread and a chrysocolla gem resting on the thread brings forth harmony and clarity. The tiger's eye above will gather this clarity with balance. They are capped with an amethyst point to ignite the crown chakra. The shaker itself is colorfully painted with varying animal totem. Your choice of jaguar, serpent, owl, frog, bee, huachuma, or seed of life.
There are some variations of this maraca which are artfully carved with Shipibo beading and plant / animal totem of mushroom, colibri (hummingbird) and serpent.
Another variation of this wingo maraca is carved with symbolism of geometry ancient geometry, as well as an adornment above and below of an array of (domestic) bird feathers from Peru.
Each Maraca comes with a unique pouch handwoven by a Quechua women's branch of our collective artists. *The pouch you receive may not be the same color and pattern as the images above*.
