About Collective Journey Art & Offerings
Collective Journey works with remote native communities of Central and South America. The project aims to provide employment opportunities for the creative & talented people, mainly women to reach their handcrafted custom jewelry, using some rare beads and techniques to come up with a year long creations and accessories to more lucrative markets with a reliable source of income. As a project, Collective Journey Art performs wholesale to women/family owned small businesses in California and across the states but also operates as a retailer at festivals and temporary events with its popup shop.
Collective Journey Art also distributes amazonian naturopathic and ceremonial eye drop, commonly referred by its native name “Sananga” as well as ceremonial and non-smokable powdered tobacco mixed with alkaline ashes commonly named as ‘Hapé” or “Rapé”, which is a product similar to snuff. Collective Journey is a registered distributor as a wholesale company in California.
Our Concept & Intention
We work with our collectives in a way to remain exclusive in our creations. Our work of design
and the process of implementation is based on the leading family in each tribe or community to come up with our intentions and exclusive offerings. We then embark on a nomadic adventure traveling from one event to another during the festive season usually in a 20' x 20' popup structure where possible.
We camp behind our booth we use in every gathering, to offer our handcrafted custom jewelry, accessories and ritual items created by our native collectives from mayan people of Qachcarel, T’zutujil and sub tribes of Guatemala, Embera Chami people of Risaralda and Putumayo people of Colombia, Quechua and Otawalano people of imbabura region of Ecuador, Shipibo, Quechua, Chowin and Machoa people of Peru and numerous other tribes from Brazil.
Our Philosophy
Community-focused - By helping artisans who are inspired to share their art with the world, we become co-creators with them and their tribes. Therefore, our presence becomes meaningful to the places and people we visit.
Ethical Creations - All of our offerings are ethically and intentionally conceptualized and created from tribal villages in Central and South America.
Meaningful Connections - Create an alternative way where we are connected to our being and have a deep understanding of our roles within the fabric of humanity.
