About Collective Journey Art & Offerings

Collective Journey works with remote native communities of Central and South America. The project aims to provide employment opportunities for the creative & talented people, mainly women to reach their handcrafted custom jewelry, using some rare beads and techniques to come up with a year long creations and accessories to more lucrative markets with a reliable source of income. As a project, Collective Journey Art performs wholesale to women/family owned small businesses in California and across the states but also operates as a retailer at festivals and temporary events with its popup shop.

Collective Journey Art also distributes amazonian naturopathic and ceremonial eye drop, commonly referred by its native name “Sananga” as well as ceremonial and non-smokable powdered tobacco mixed with alkaline ashes commonly named as ‘Hapé” or “Rapé”, which is a product similar to snuff. Collective Journey is a registered distributor as a wholesale company in California.

Our Concept & Intention

Our Concept & Intention

We work with our collectives in a way to remain exclusive in our creations. Our work of design
and the process of implementation is based on the leading family in each tribe or community to come up with our intentions and exclusive offerings. We then embark on a nomadic adventure traveling from one event to another during the festive season usually in a 20' x 20' popup structure where possible.

We camp behind our booth we use in every gathering, to offer our handcrafted custom jewelry, accessories and ritual items created by our native collectives from mayan people of Qachcarel, T’zutujil and sub tribes of Guatemala, Embera Chami people of Risaralda and Putumayo people of Colombia, Quechua and Otawalano people of imbabura region of Ecuador, Shipibo, Quechua, Chowin and Machoa people of Peru and numerous other tribes from Brazil.

Our Philosophy

Our Philosophy

Community-focused - By helping artisans who are inspired to share their art with the world, we become co-creators with them and their tribes. Therefore, our presence becomes meaningful to the places and people we visit.

Ethical Creations - All of our offerings are ethically and intentionally conceptualized and created from tribal villages in Central and South America.

Meaningful Connections - Create an alternative way where we are connected to our being and have a deep understanding of our roles within the fabric of humanity.

Our Values

OUR VALUES

Craftsmanship

Every piece we create contains the tender love of a hummingbird; effort, intention, and divine inspiration of the creator, adding a piece of our soul. These timeless pieces are love intensive, transcending past into the present and ascending beyond, into the future.

Elegance

Remembering beauty in all forms, it develops and evolves over time, but there is an elegance we add on to beaded works and art. The word “intricate” is a term which our customers have associated with us and our work type. We are known for our quality and uniqueness.

Heritage

Every design is one-of-a-kind, inspired by the spiritual journeys that come about from plant-based medicinal healing ceremonies. The patterns, color schemes, and designs vary dramatically from piece to piece. Each unique piece holds a rich history, full of intention and passion. They hold our collective imagination.

Fair Trade

The philosophy of Collective Journey is to empower people with their own talents, lights to share, willingness & engagement to decide the value of their work and worth. We operate and perform on the basis of self-employment, and self-empowerment with the principle of social economy in mind.

Eco-responsibility

Jewelry making is our collective labor of passionate love, earthship in using organic and sustainable materials. Our seed beads are made of glass so mother earth provides sand in abundance. We are a carbon-neutral business making a positive change to the environment and society for a better world for generations to come.

Exclusivity

We value traditional and cultural symbols of each tribe we collaborate with. Remain harmonious to their distinct cultural regions. Our co-creation in most cases are the color combinations and patterns between us and the local tribes and artisans, resulting in unique pieces not found anywhere else.
