Rising like distant peaks along the horizon, the pattern reflects the grounding strength and quiet majesty of the mountains.
Handwoven by Tz’utujil Maya artisans of Guatemala using fine Japanese Miyuki glass beads, forming balanced geometric patterns bead by bead.

These earrings are created in collaboration with Indigenous women artisans from the Guatemalan highlands. Many of the makers belong to Tz’utujil and Kaqchikel Maya communities surrounding Lake Atitlán, where beadwork has become an important contemporary form of artistic expression and economic independence.

Working primarily with Miyuki glass beads, artisans combine traditional patience and handcraft with evolving design approaches, creating intricate patterns through meticulous bead-weaving techniques. Each pair is woven bead by bead, often taking several hours to complete.

Through this collaboration, these pieces carry both the precision of contemporary beadwork and the living creativity of the communities who craft them.
